Killarney, Ring of Kerry, Historical Houses and Gardens

6 Days, Departs Sunday 10th May 2020. The Kingdom of Kerry is renowned for its natural beauty, tranquility, slow way of life, and wonderful and beautiful Spring Gardens.

Sunday – We depart by luxury coach will extra leg room, supplied by Richards Bros, Cardigan around midday, travel to Fishguard for our crossing to Rosslare. Overnight 3 Star Dooley’s Hotel in Waterford for dinner, bed and Irish breakfast. Enjoy a Guinness in the evening.

Monday – Morning visit to Waterford Crystal for a factory tour. Later on, to Killarney for our 4 nights stay, dinner, bed & breakfast at 3 Star Castlerosse Hotel situated on the lakeside, a mile from Killarney town centre. The Hotel has restaurant, bar, lounge area, leisure facilities, including indoor swimming pool, sauna, gymnasium, steam room, jacuzzi, tennis courts, and a nine-hole golf course. Rooms have en-suite bathroom, T.V, hairdryer, and tea, coffee making facilities.

Tuesday – Full day guided tour of Ring of Kerry. Irelands most beautiful iconic spectacular coastal scenery, visiting farm cottages and fishing ports. Return to Hotel for dinner.

Wednesday – This morning we will travel to Garnish Island and Ilnacullin Gardens. Take a boat trip past Maureen O’Hara’s house, Glengarriff, Castle onto Seal Island for a photo of the seals, onto Garnish Island and Ilnacullin Gardens, a subtropical paradise garden, one of the 20th Centuries great gardening achievements, transformed a wind-swept Island into a subtropical garden. Afternoon to Derreen Gardens. Most gardens fade from memory, but the sights and scents of Derreen Gardens in spring are an experience unlikely to be forgotten in a lifetime of garden visits. Return to Hotel for dinner.

Thursday – Bantry House and Gardens. Restoration began in 2002. Now complete is fine Victoria garden. The garden created in late 17th Century. The real garden triumph at Bantry the “Stairway to Sky” (Heaven). Lies to the rear of the house. Afternoon to Muckross House and Gardens. A Historical Elizabethan – Style Mansion set in beautiful grounds near Killarney. Dinner at Hotel.

Friday – Sadly we leave for home for a sailing from Rosslare to Fishguard. On the way we visit Mount Congreve Gardens was inspired by Lionel de Rothschild of Exbury in Hampshire. The Garden is one of the finest spring gardens in Ireland over 2,000 Rhododendrons and Azaleas in flower. Astonishing 9,000 varieties of rare trees and shrubs.

£650.00 per person sharing a twin room, single room supplement per person £125. Price includes all coach travel, return ferry crossing. Half board – dinner on the first night to breakfast on the last day. Admission to all attractions in itinerary and services of a professional gardener.

Photo ID and travel insurance are required on this tour. Due to Brexit and exchange rate £650.00 is not a guaranteed price. We will recalculate the tour price on 1st February 2020 and any necessary surcharge may apply.

£80.00 deposit – no seat is reserved without a deposit. Balance to be paid 1st March 2020. Deposit is non-refundable. Booking early is essential as a lot of interest has been shown.
